PHOBOS BT B40 KIT swing gate automation kit for gates with a leaf weight up to 700 kg and length up to 4 m, equipped with the ZARA BT A80 control board with DIP switches.

Unlike the shorter Phobos BT B25 version, this model is more versatile for installation, suitable for both classic inward and outward opening thanks to an extended 480 mm rod stroke.

For installing the Phobos BT B40 with outward opening, it is recommended to immediately purchase the SFR B L rear bracket extensions (2 pcs — one for each operator); otherwise, you will need to extend the bracket using makeshift materials. Alternatively, you can complete your order with this original manufacturer accessory right away.

⚠️ Warning! If the leaf length exceeds 3 meters, installing an EBP BT A 24V vertical electric lock is mandatory to reduce wind load and provide additional locking in the closed position.

This is the updated 2024 model, replacing the PHOBOS BT A40 → now PHOBOS BT B40.

What’s new?

1. 🧲 Magnetic limit switches have been moved to the top of the housing for easier setup during installation. BFT's patented reverse haptic feedback (vibration) technology 📳 for limit switch triggering has been added, making the installation process even simpler.

This increased the operator's rod stroke from 400 mm to 480 mm, allowing gate leaves to open up to 130° instead of the 124° offered by the previous model. And that’s not all! The maximum weight capacity has increased from 500 kg to 700 kg by expanding the travel distance between open and closed positions (working rod stroke) while maintaining the exact same outer dimensions as its predecessor! 2. 📐 The front mounting bracket has been redesigned and improved, providing smoother operator travel in both manual and automatic modes. 3. 😎 The updated high-tech design retains its classic aesthetic—a trademark of BFT swing gate automation in the KUSTOS and PHOBOS product lines. 4. 🔐 Added the ability to install optional AMIP mechanical stops mounted directly on the motor housing, which additionally secure the gate leaves in the open or closed position and reduce wind load on the gear motor.

The new model is fully compatible with the previous version in terms of dimensions and supports operation with both previous and new control boards: ZARA BT A80 or THALIA BT A80 DUO.

An exclusive manufacturer solution—the proprietary BFT Easy Set app—is a visualization calculator designed for precise calculation of BFT swing automation installation geometry. We recommend using this free installer assistant, available for download on Android and iOS app stores.

The ZARA BT A80 control board features the following technologies and functions:

1. DIP switches and trimmers (adjustable potentiometers) interface for configuring parameters and control board functions.

2. U-Security — new encryption technology to protect remote control codes from cloning. Maximum security for your driveway! For shared or communal use, it serves as an extra guarantee against unauthorized entry.

3. Verde — new energy-saving technology, consuming only 0.5W in standby mode.

4. Expanded memory module capacity — increased from 63 to 128 users. Furthermore, it is now removable, allowing saved remotes to be backed up and transferred if the control board is damaged.

5. U-Link 2.0 — now equipped with an expansion port to connect both new and previous-generation smart expansion cards. This enables remote automation management and setting adjustments right from your smartphone, wherever you are.

6. Additional input/output expansion slot for connecting the programmable EBT expansion board — enables the connection of a second pair of photocells, increases input/output terminals for broader control scenarios, and allows connection of the EBP BT A 24V electric lock (functionality missing in the previous ZARA BTL2 board).

7. D-Track — patented technology for automatic drive force adjustment and obstacle detection, offering an additional safety layer against impacts or pinching vehicles, people, or pets.

8. Supports connection of the BBT BAT CBOX FLAT battery backup module, ensuring gate operation even during a 230V power outage.

9. Automatic closing function based on timer settings or after passing through photocells.

10. Command lockout function during the gate opening phase (ideal for safe shared/communal use).
